  • Clean up and restoration of Gray's Lake Park, a former gravel quarry turned into an urban lake located immediately south of downtown
  • Park contains a lighted, paved recreational trail including Iowa's longest concrete span pedestrian bridge
  • Other features include a boat rental house and marina with concessions, heavy landscaping, road extensions and public restrooms
  • Currently the City of Des Moines' most active park and serves as a landscaped gateway into downtown
  • Project once encompassed an outdoor amphitheater, a boardwalk and other features, but were dropped from the project due to concerns with overcrowding
